When I lived in Los Angeles, I wanted to craft a story that utilized the sights and sounds of the West Coast. I was also becoming more serious about animation, and I thought it would be a beneficial exercise to practice traditional animation techniques on paper. Inspired by the animation sequences in Mary Poppins, I combined my animation with live-action footage of the actors. I love the resulting contrast of simple doodles against vibrant beach colors.
